DIOCESAN DAY OF PRAYER

Saturday 26 April

 

The Bishops are encouraging every Christian community in the Diocese to join with them on this day in praying for the mission and ministry of the Church and the communities it serves.

 

Programme

 

Friday 25 April – 8 – 9 pm

Launch of the Day of Prayer

with the Bishops in Winchester Cathedral

 

Saturday 26 April

St Paul’s, Bishopstoke

 

10 am                Praise and prayer for all ages

 

10.25 am          Prayer for our church – in a variety of styles

 

11.15 am          Refreshments

 

11.35 am          Prayer for our community – in a variety of styles

 

12.30 pm          Lunch  (please bring your own, drinks provided)

 

1.30 pm                        Prayer for personal needs  (in the church)

People will be available to pray for you or you can pray in the stillness for yourself or others.

                           Prayer with art  (in the hall)

There will be some guidance at the start of this session, followed by chance to pray whilst drawing, painting etc.  Some materials will be available, but you may like to bring your own!

Prayer walk

For those who don’t want to fall asleep at this stage!

 

2.30 pm                        Refreshments

 

2.45 pm                        Reflective prayer – listening to God through scripture

                           

3.10 – 3.30 pm     Closing prayer and worship – a gentle liturgy for

   the end of the day

 

You are most welcome to come for part or all of the day.  Children are especially welcome at the start and for the morning sessions, when they will be included – and for lunch, of course!
